Health and Safety Policy for Encore Studios

1.        General Conduct

o   All students must follow the teachers instructions at all times

o   Running, pushing, or rough play is not permitted in the studios or waiting areas

o   Respect other students, teachers, and studio property at all times

2.        Appropriate Attire & Footwear

o   Students must wear mandatory appropriate uniform as specified on Encore Studios website

o   Hair must be securely tied back as specified in uniform section of Encore Studios website to prevent obstruction of vision

o   No jewellery except small stud earrings is permitted to ensure no lost or damaged items and no injuries to dancers

3.        Health & Injury Prevention

o   Students or students parents must inform the teacher of any injuries, medical conditions or pain before class begins

o   Warm ups and cool downs are mandatory and must not be skipped. These will be implemented in all classes

4.        Studio Space & Equipment

o   Only authorised equipment may be used, and only with instructor permission

o   Sound equipment, and props must not be leaned on or misused

o   Personal items such as bags, clothes, drink bottles etc must be kept in designated areas to prevent trip hazards

5.        Food, Drink & Cleanliness

o   No food or drinks other than water in a sealed bottle is allowed in the studio

o   Students must help keep the studio clean and dispose of rubbish properly

6.        Arrival & Departure

o   Students should arrive on time and be ready to start class promptly

o   Younger students must be collected by parents/guardian at the studio. If no responsible carer is there to collect student, student must wait inside the studio till collected

o   The studio is not responsible for students outside of scheduled class times

7.        Illness & Wellbeing

o   Students should not attend class if they are feeling unwell or have a contagious illness

o   Any accidents or injuries during class must be reported to the instructor immediately

o   All students and parents are to inform teachers immediately if a danger or hazard is identified at the studio

8.        Emergency Procedures

o   Students and parents must familiarise themselves with the studio emergency exits

o   In the event of an emergency students must remain calm and follow staff instructions

9.        Photography & Recording

o   Photography or video recording is only permitted with studio approval

o   Mobile phones must be silenced and stored away during class unless required for learning purposes

10.  Compliance

o   Failure to follow safety rules may result in removal from class to protect the safety of all participants
